Box Score 2 LEESBURG, FLA. – The D'Youville University softball team began their weeklong spring break trip by dropping a pair of games in the late innings to Bloomfield College (6-4) and Purdue Northwest (4-1) on Saturday afternoon.
GAME 1 – BC 6, DYU 4
- After a pair of stolen bases, the Bears used a 2-out single through the left side to put one on the board in the top of the first.
- DYU answered in the bottom of the frame as Mikayla Bush flared one over the second basemen into shallow right field to plate Brianna Dewey, 1-1.
- Lauren Booth followed with runners on 1st and 2nd by ripping one into left center to bring home Hannah Bardeen, DYU 2-1.
- The Saints tacked one more on thanks to an error by the Bears' second basemen, DYU 3-1 after the first.
- A leadoff walk came back to hurt DYU in the second as BC responded with a 2-out single up the middle to cut the margin in half at 3-2.
- The Bears took advantage of another leadoff walk in the third, thanks to three straight hits to score two and take a 4-3 lead.
- Another error proved costly for BC in the bottom half of the inning with 2-outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd as a groundball to short, took a bad hop and got into the outfield, plating Bush and knotting the game at 4-4.
- After a quiet fourth and fifth inning, the Saints retired the first two Bears batters in the sixth before a bunt base hit started the 2-out magic for BC.
- A single to right field put runners on the corners, a double to left field short hopped the fence and cleared the bases to give BC a 6-4 advantage.
- In the bottom of the sixth, a one-out walk by Lauren Beck and a single through the left side by Olivia Goderis had the Saints threatening but a third to first double play got the Bears out of trouble heading to the seventh.
- Cassie Crecar kept BC off the board in the seventh to give her team a chance but DYU went down in order to end the game.

- Booth started in the hill but didn't factor in the decision: 2 2/3 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, K
- Crerar ate some innings in relief while keeping her team in the game but took the loss: (0-2) 4 1/3, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6Ks
- Bush: 2-3, R, RBI
Game 2: PNW 4, DYU 1
- The Pride got on the board first in the bottom half of the opening frame after a 2-out error by the Saints, PNW 1-0.
- The Saints fought back right away as Laura Beck led off the inning with a single and two batters later, Jamie Bower ripped a double down the left field line to tie the game at 1-1.
- PNW took advantage of a lead off walk in the bottom of the inning as a stolen base followed by a double put the Pride back ahead, 2-1.
- Four consecutive hits by the Pride in the fifth plated two more insurance runs as PNW won 4-1.

- Sarah Parzych started in the circle and took the loss: (1-2) 4 IP, 4 H, 2 R, ER, BB, 3 K
- Crerar once again did a good job in relief: 1 2/3 IP H, 2K

The Saints return to the diamond tomorrow against Bentley at 11:30 am followed by a 2 pm tilt with #8 U of Indy
