BUFFALO - The D'Youville University men's soccer team played their home finale Wednesday afternoon, dropping a tightly contested match to Daemen University 3-2.
After falling behind 1-0 early, the Saints answered back in the 14th minute when freshman
Ethan Robinson (Toronto, Ontario) found sophomore
Aaron Baffour (Anchorage, Alaska) from the right side of the box in front of the net for a goal. The Wildcats would go in front again later in the half and the Saints went into halftime down 2-1. In the 54th minute, freshman
Ben Calkins (East Grinstead, England) scored his first collegiate goal with some crafty dribbling to knot the contest up at 2-2. Daemen would retake the lead in the 65th minute. DYU saw a few more scoring opportunities in the second half, as Baffour, Calkins, and Robinson got some good looks, but were unable to convert. Freshman
Jake Marks (London, England) went the distance in net, tallying three saves for the Saints.
DYU will play their final game of the regular season when they travel to Queens College Saturday, October 28th, at 3:00 p.m.
