Box Score Staten Island, N.Y. — The D'Youville University women's basketball team took on the College of Staten Island on Sunday and after running neck and neck with the Dolphins, the Saints took the win, 57-52.
Sofie Fuglsang paced the Saints with 13 points, 5-of-9 from the floor, while Stella Mollica chipped in 11 points, five boards and five assists.
FIRST QUARTER
- Mollica opened up the scoring between both teams with a three-pointer at 8:44.
- Fuglsang contributed a jump shot at 7:10 (5-2) and Brianne Moxley added a jump shot at 1:15 to tie the game at 7-7.
- A Staten Island triple ended the quarter with the home team up 10-7.
SECOND QUARTER
- The Saints began the stanza with an 18-0 run over six minutes and change to open up a 25-10 advantage.
- At 1:31, Isabella Kostyal-Larrier adds a jump shot, making the score DYU 27-15.
- Kostyal-Larrier finished the quarter with a three-pointer to hold a double-digit lead at the break, 30-18.
THIRD QUARTER
- Kirisits started the scoring for the Saints in the second half with a layup at 7:57, 32-22.
- Anna Jankovic secured her first points of the game with a layup and a free throw at the 5:45 mark, DYU 37-25.
- The Dolphins trimmed the margin to six heading to fourth, 43-37.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Madison Clark opened up the fourth quarter for the Saints with a layup, 45-40
- Moxley adds five points to the board from 4:52 to 2:33, Saints lead 50-46.
- Mollica polished off the win with four free throws down the stretch as the Saints held on for a 57-52 victory.
