Box Score WASHINGTON D.C. - The D'Youville University women's basketball team traveled to face the Firebirds of the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) on Friday, Jan. 6. After a tense battle, the Saints took the win, 50-44.
FIRST QUARTER

Stella Mollica opened the scoring of the game for the Saints with a three-pointer at 4:40 making the score UDC 4-3.

Anna Jankovic was the only other player to score this quarter and did so with a layup at 3:20 (5-4).

The Firebirds take the lead and end the quarter at 8-5.
SECOND QUARTER

Haley Kirisits made a layup to open the scoring for D'Youville in the second quarter (UDC 10-7).

After Mollica made a layup and a free throw at 7:23 and 7:18, UDC kept DYU at 10 points until Mollica struck back with a three-pointer at 4:47 (UDC 16-13).

After Jaelyn Vleer-Elliott made a jump shot at 1:45 and Sofie Fuglsang a three-point jump shot at 25 seconds, DYU entered the half up 18-16.
THIRD QUARTER

Jankovic opened up the scoring in the second half with a free throw at 9:19. She then proceeded to make two consecutive layups at 8:26 and 8:04.

Fuglsang made three jump shots in the quarter. First at 6:50, 4:00, and 2:52. This put D'Youville ahead seven points (32-25).

Jankovic then closed the scoring of the quarter with 30 seconds left (DYU 35-31).
FOURTH QUARTER

Brianne Moxley opened up the fourth quarter scoring for the Saints with a jump shot at 7:21 (37-34).

Vleer-Elliott made two consecutive layups at 5:57 and 5:39. She then added a jump shot at 4:55, making the score 43-36 DYU.

Mollica ended the scoring for D'Youville by making seven free throws to secure the 50-44 D'Youville road.
