Rochester, N.Y. — The D'Youville University women's basketball team faced Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday, Jan. 14th. The team was able to establish a lead early on in the game and took the win 69-58.

Jaelyn Vleer-Elliott became the new points leader for the squad today when she sunk seven shots and racked up 16 points.

FIRST QUARTER

• Vleer-Elliot started off the team strong putting in a layup 44 seconds into the game.
• Brianne Moxley secured her second three-pointer of the quarter at 5:23, DYU 16-5.
• Vleer-Elliot ended the quarter with a jumper and D'Youville was up 20-14 going into the second.

SECOND QUARTER

• Vleer-Elliot immediately started off the quarter with two consecutive jump shots at 9:19 and 8:50 to start DYU's run for the second quarter.
• Vleer-Elliot was followed by Isabella Kostyal-Larrier and Stella Mollica with a pair of three-pointers at 8:03 (Mollica) and 7:30 (Kostyal-Larrier), DYU 30-17.
• D'Youville finished the half up eight points, 37-29.

THIRD QUARTER

• D'Youville started the quarter expanding their margin by 10 points by the 5:28 mark, 47-29.
• Roughly halfway through the quarter, Haley Kirisits hit a jumper making the score 49-31.
• Vleer-Elliot sunk two consecutive layups at 3:43 and 3:16 but RWU struck back with eight points. DYU ends the quarter ahead 53-41.

FOURTH QUARTER

• Anna Jankovic started up the last quarter making a layup and a free-throw at 8:59, putting the Saints ahead 56-41.
• Jankovic and Vleer-Elliot go back-to-back with a couple of layups at 8:14 (Jankovic) and 7:15 (Vleer-Elliot), DYU 60-43.
• The team hits three free throws and three layups each down the stretch, beating RWU 69-58.

NEXT UP
D'Youville University women's basketball team will be back in Buffalo on Tuesday, Jan. 17th to face Daemen College. Tip-off is set for 6:00 P.M.
