Box Score DUBOIS, Pa. – The D'Youville softball team extended their win streak to 11 with an impressive 6-2 victory over Mississippi University for Women Tuesday at the 2022 USCAA Small College World Series. Maddy Pepke went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored, while Lauren Booth went 2-for-3 with a team-high three RBI. Booth was credited with her eighth win of the season after throwing for 7.0 innings.
How it happened
- The Owls took an early lead, as Riley Phillips hit a triple to right field that brought Megan Cummins home, putting them ahead by one run in the top of the first.
- Rylie Grisham from Mississippi University for Women homered in the top of the third to extend the Owls' lead to 2-0 going into the bottom of the inning.
- The Saints wasted no time in the bottom of the third, as Booth doubled to right field bringing home Jamie Bower and Pepke to tie the game.
- Mikaela Milleville hit her fifth triple of the season, bringing Gianna Adamo and Booth across home plate to put the Saints ahead 4-2.
- Milleville scored after Mikayla Bush singled through the left side, and the Saints led 5-2 going into the top of the fourth.
- The Saints added an insurance run in the bottom of the fourth as Booth singled up the middle to bring Pepke home and secure the 6-2 win over the Owls.
