BUFFALO, N.Y. - The D'Youville softball team continued their ways, sweeping Queens (N.Y.) 6-5 and 5-3, at Dobson Field. The pair of East Coast Conference victories improve the Saints to 20-12 overall and 9-9 in league play.
Freshman Gianna Adamo got the Saints on the board with a sacrifice fly to right field that drove in senior Maddy Pepke.
After the Saints tacked on one more in the second inning, a three-run fourth inning, highlighted by a two-run single from sophomore Ava Miller, turned a tie game at three into a 6-3 lead for the Saints.
Freshman Cassie Crerar (W, 5-3) tossed five innings in the circle for the Saints before handing the ball off to fellow freshman Sarah Parzych who got the final six outs for her first career collegiate save.
Miller paced the Saints at the plate in the opener with a three hit game (3-for-3, 2 RBI)
An RBI triple from senior Mikaela Milleville put the Saints ahead 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning.
A three-run second inning featured an RBI single from Bardeen that drove in freshman Laura Beck.
Senior Carly Milleville capped the scoring for the Saints with an RBI double to left in the bottom of the third.
Sophomore Lauren Booth (W, 7-5) returned to the win column for the Saints with a pair of strikeouts while surrendering no earned runs on just three hits in her five-inning start … Parzych picked up her second six-out save in another relief appearance.
The Saints continue home ECC play tomorrow afternoon when they host Mercy for a doubleheader. Game times are set for 12 and 2 p.m.
