Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The D'Youville women's basketball team saw four players earn USCAA accolades after an impressive 2021-22 campaign. Riley Riedel earned All-Academic honors, Stella Mollica was named an Honorable Mention All-American, Anna Jankovic was named a Second-Team All-American, and Sara Pfeiffer was named a First-Team All-American.
Riedel had an impressive final season for D'Youville, starting in all 24 games and averaging 6.4 points per game. The 6-2 forward finished the season second on the team in rebounds per game at 5.8. Riedel completed her final season in the red and gray with 154 points, shooting 61.1% from the free-throw line. She had 53 total blocks, 23 steals, and 41 assists to round out her stat line. She was named the ECC Defensive Player of the Week twice this season. She finished the season with a 3.6 grade-point average as a nursing major.
Mollica had a stellar debut for the Saints this season, finishing second on the team in field goal percentage at 36.7, and third in points per game at 9.0. The Shillington, Pa. native scored 215 points over 24 games, and finished 57-for-69 from the charity stripe. As a 5-4 guard, Mollica was credited with 81 assists, 52 steals, and two blocks.
Jankovic was outstanding for the Saints in her freshman season, leading the team in rebounds per game (8.5) and field goal percentage (36.9%). The Averill Park, N.Y. native was also second on the team in points per game at 9.8. Jankovic had a career-high 14 rebounds twice during the season and scored a career-high 26 points early in December. She scored in the double-figures 12 times and grabbed double-figure rebounds nine times. The 5-9 guard was credited with six double-doubles on the season. Jankovic was named ECC Rookie of the Week once this season.
Pfeiffer had a record-breaking performance this season, leading the team in points per game (19.0) and three-point percentage (34.1%). The Olean, N.Y. native broke the East Coast Conference single-game record for made three-pointers, sinking 11 against ECC opponent Molloy en route to a career-high 45 points. The 5-8 guard finished the 2021-22 campaign ranked second in the conference in points per game, fourth in total points (417), and second in points per 40 minutes (24.4). Pfeiffer scored 10 or more points 19 times through 22 games and scored 20 or more points nine times. Pfeiffer was named ECC Player of the Week and U.S. Basketball Writers Association National Player of the Week after her record-breaking performance at Molloy.
