Box Score Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.- The D'Youville University men's basketball competed Friday in conference play against the Mavericks of Mercy College from Victory Gym.
STAT OF THE GAME
- Willie Kondrat set the tone for the Saints scoring a season high of 30 points.
FIRST HALF
- The first timeout was called by the Saints after a steal by the Mavericks occurred with 8:34 on the clock, 24-16.
- Kondrat gathered a defensive rebound that led to a layup for Cherif Kanoute chipping away at the score, 26-19.
- Saints close the quarter out with a three-pointer made by Renard Fontes Jules coming off an assist from Nelson St. Louis with the score being, 43-38.
SECOND HALF
- The Saints got off to a fast start as they outscored the Mavericks on a 15-7 run that put the Saints in front, 56-52 with 12:32 remaining forcing Mercy to call a timeout.
- A scoring differential of 14 points resulted in the half.
- After a timeout called by Mercy with 21 seconds left Luke Theisen made an essential three-point shot making the score, 84-80. That helped close out the game from that point on.
WORD FROM THE HEAD COACH
Head Coach of the men's basketball team Andy Stark had this to say after the Saints secured the victory, " We are excited to get a road win and bounce back off last games loss. Mercy is a super talented team. I'm proud of our guys for staying focused and paying attention to the half time adjustments. We have another great opportunity at STAC on Sunday to continue to get better."
