DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. — The D'Youville University women's basketball team faced Mercy College today in Dobbs Ferry. Ultimately, the Saints fell 49-43. 

FIRST QUARTER

• Stella Mollica opened up the scoring of the game with a layup 1:15 in. (2-0)

• Mercy made a layup at 6:12 and Sofie Fuglsang responded with a 3 point jump shot, putting the Saints up 5-2.

• During this quarter, Mollica made two layups, Fuglsang made two three pointers and Freshman, Morgan Giancaterino, also put in a three-pointer with 2:54 left.

SECOND QUARTER

• Anna Jankovic opened the scoring for this quarter with a jump shot at 9:09. (15-7)

• Mercy was able to go on a run and eventually take the lead with 2:24 left in the quarter, forcing D'Youville to take a time out. (21-23)

• Mollica ended the quarter tying things up at 23 with a jump shot.

THIRD QUARTER

• The Saints were unable to respond to a layup made earlier in the quarter until 5:07, when Brianne Moxley opened up the teams scoring with a layup. (25-25)

• Mollica made a singular free-throw at 4:08.

• Mollica, assisted by Jankovic, closed the teams scoring in the quarter with a three point jump shot.

FOURTH QUARTER

• Jankovic opened the scoring this quarter with a layup 35 seconds in. (31-30)

• Mercy took the lead, so D'Youville responded with a time out at 7:44. (31-34)

• Isabella Kostyal-Larrier made a three point jump shot at 5:34. Mollica also sank a three point jump shot at 1:12. However, the Saints were unable to finish on top and ended the game, 43-49.
