Box Score BUFFALO, N.Y. — The D'Youville University women's basketball team took on Molloy University on Sunday, Dec. 4. The Lions and the Saints were tied at 26 going into the half. The Saints were unable to capitalize and fell 52-55.
STAT OF THE GAME
FIRST QUARTER
- Brianne Moxlely opened the game making a three-point jump shot 22 seconds in.
- Fuglsang made two three-point jump shots in the quarter.
- Molloy goes on a slight run and ends the quarter up 16-14.
SECOND QUARTER
- Haley Kirisits opened the scoring this quarter, tying up the game 16-16.
- After Moxley hits a three-pointer, Molloy goes on a slight run forcing D'Youville to take a time out at 6:20. (19-20)
- Both teams entered the half tied at 26.
THIRD QUARTER
- Stella Mollica opened the scoring this quarter making a jump shot. (28-29)
- Fuglsang hit another three-point jump shot this quarter.
- Jankovic makes three free throws this quarter. Molloy ends the quarter up 39-38.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Moxley opened the quarter with a three-pointer 30 seconds in.
- Fuglsang made both free throws, a field goal, and three-pointer this quarter.
- D'Youville takes a time out at 11 seconds but falls 52-55 in the end.
WORDS FROM THE COACH
When asking Head Coach Ali Bouman her thoughts on the team's performance, she mentioned that "the lead changed 11 times." She continued by saying "I thought we played tough… We're adjusting…" Bouman continued by complementing some players. "One of our freshmen, Madison Clark, stepped in and played some really efficient quick minutes. We had Sofie Fuglsang step in and deliver some really aggressive plays on offense." She concluded by stating "We really gotta keep dialing in on who we are on defense… I love this team. I'm proud of them. We're ready to reset, refocus, and get ready for the next game."
