Box Score AMHERST, N.Y. – The second and final meeting of 2021 between Daemen and D'Youville women's volleyball team ended with Daemen claiming a 3-0 sweep.
D'Youville (3-20, 2-8 ECC) could not get the offense in rhythm against Daemen (17-7, 10-ECC). The Saints had 18 kills on the night compared to 39 for the Wildcats. Four different Saints had at least three kills on Tuesday evening.
The first set was closest by score, which went to Daemen 25-21. D'Youville scored the first five points of the match, with the benefit of errors from Daemen. The Wildcats used a 5-0 spurt to take an 11-8 lead, which ended up being for good. A kill from Jaycee Karelus got the Saints within two, 23-21, before the Wildcats scored back-to-back points to close the set.
Daemen opened set two, scoring four of the first five points. The Wildcats eventually built a 10-2 lead. Daemen would build the lead to 10 and finally 15, 25-10, by the end of the set. For the second set, Daemen hit .520 as a team with only two errors on 25 attacks.
Set three was tightly contested as the score was tied six times before Daemen tied the set for the final time at 15. The Wildcats erased a two-point deficit and expanded their lead to 21-16 after a 4-0 stretch. A kill from Sarah Wittek made it 22-19, but the Wildcats closed out the set and match with three straight.

Karelus and Eve Musielak paced the offense with four kills … Samantha Killane had 11 digs and was in double figures for the fifth time in six contests …
