VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The D'Youville men's soccer team wrapped postseason play and their 2021 season Saturday afternoon, taking down Bryant & Stratton-Albany, 2-1, in Pool A action at the USCAA Championship. Saturday's victory, the second of the season over B&S-Albany, sees the Saints finish the season at 5-10-3. 

Senior Nick Dumond highlighted a quiet first half with a goal in the 33rd minute. Dumond netted his team-leading 13th goal of the season on an assist from senior Jake Kowalewski. Kowalewski set up the goal by rolling a free-kick from just inside the Bobcat half of the field to Dumond on the edge of the 18-yard box. Dumond gathered the ball, spun around, and fired his shot into the back of the net for the Saints' first goal of the USCAA Championship. 

D'Youville would double their lead in the 67th minute when the Brazilian connection of freshmen Paulo Carvalho and Felipe Santos linked up. Carvalho threaded a through-ball around the Bobcat backline and found Santos racing down the right side of the field. Santos needed just one touch before slotting his eighth goal of the season into the far corner. The Bobcats pulled one goal back in the 87th minute courtesy of Tajay Brahman.

Dumond finishes his D'Youville career with 38 goals … freshman goalkeeper Ethan Picard collected six saves during his 90 minutes between the D'Youville posts, bringing his season total to 86 saves ... The Saints were outshot by the Bobcats, 16-12 … B&S-Albany placed eight shots on frame compared to D'Youville's five.
