Box Score Bradford, PA - The D'Youville Men's Soccer Team continued their recent success as they defeated Pitt.-Bradford on Tuesday 1-0 to win their third straight conference game.
Freshman Brandon Pauly (Owego, NY/Owego) scored the lone goal of the game in the first half, which turned out to be all the Spartans needed to win. Junior Nick Johnson (North Tonawanda, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) recorded the game winning assist for the third straight game.
Pauly now leads the team in both goals with 3, and points with 8. Right behind Pauly is Johnson, who is second on the team with 7 points and leads the team with 3 assists.
Coming off his recent AMCC Defensive Player of the Week Award, junior goalkeeper Brett Matthews (Angola, NY/Lake Shore) continued to lead the D'Youville Spartans with his play. Matthews earned his first shutout of the season after stopping all 6 shots he saved.
Once again, the center back freshman duo of Conner Ward (San Diego, CA/Cathedral Catholic) and Mike Lekanka II (Newfane, NY/Newfane) stopped the opposing offense from putting much of an offensive effort up.
The Spartans had for shots, three of which were on goal. Freshman Alf Johann Egge (Stavanger, Norway/Stavanger) led the team with 2 shots on goal.
D'Youville has won its last three games, giving them a 3-2 conference record.
The next game for the D'Youville Men's Soccer Team is Saturday, October 18th at La Roche, with the game beginning at 3pm.
