Altoona, PA-The D'Youville women's basketball team traveled to Penn State Altoona for an AMCC road contest and the host Lions came away with a 66-56 win over the Spartans.

Bridget Andrews (Amherst, NY/Sacred Heart Academy) scored a team-high 13 points and Danettte Laguerre (Buffalo, NY/East) contributed 10 points off the bench.

It was the third-straight game the Spartans had a poor shooting first-half. Today D'Youville shot 19.4 %, from the floor in the first twenty minutes, making six of 31 attempts, and trailed 36-21 at the break.

The Spartans fared better in the second-half, outscoring the hosts 35-30.  In the final 20 minutes Andrews scored 10 points and Morgan McDermott (Hamburg, NY/Nichols) was next with six points.  The Spartans got to the free-throw line often, attempting 23 and making 14.

D'Youville falls to 5-4 in AMCC play (7-9 overall) and is now sixth in the conference standings.

Next up for the Spartans is an AMCC road game at Hilbert College January 23 at 8:00 p.m.
