Buffalo, NY-In a game that featured the second place and third place teams in the AMCC standings, host Medaille College got off to a fast start and never looked back defeating D'Youville 85-53.

Guard Bridget Andrews (Amherst, NY/Sacred Heart Academy) scored a team-high 13 points and backcourt mate Shannon Dougherty (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) was next with 12 points. 

Also scoring in double-figures tonight was Jean-Ann Korona (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) with 10 points. Korona also had a game-high six steals.

D'Youville has now lost two-straight after opening the 2014 portion of the schedule with four-straight wins. The Spartans are 5-3 in AMCC play, 7-8 overall.

Next on the schedule for the Spartans is an AMCC road game at Penn State Altoona January 18 at 3:00 p.m.
