Buffalo, NY-Women's basketball made the short trek to Medaille College and the Spartans were defeated by the host Mavericks 73-44.

Maria Rosati (West Seneca, NY/St. Mary's) and Alexis Smith (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) led the Spartans 11 points apiece. Rosati also had a game-high 6 steals. Bridget Andrews (Amherst, NY/Sacred Heart Academy) collected a team-high 10 rebounds.

There was more bad news for the young Spartan squad trying to claw their way into the AMCC Tournament. One of the teams the Spartans are chasing in standings, Mount Aloysius, was a 73-55 winner tonight at Penn State Altoona. That puts D'Youville three games back of the final playoff spot with three games left on the schedule.

Next on the schedule for D'Youville is a match-up at Penn State Altoona this Saturday (Feb. 9) at 1:00 p.m.
