Despite Strong Team Effort Men's Soccer Falls Short to Pitt-Bradford

Buffalo, NY- The Spartans played strong against visiting Pitt-Bradford on Wednesday evening. The team showed progress both offensively and defensively but was unable to come out with the win.

The Spartans gave up six shots on goal and goalkeeper Matt Smith (Bergen, NY/Byron-Bergen) had four saves for the team. The Panther's first goal was scored in the 21st minute of play and the second goal was scored off of a rebounded save by Smith in the 66th minute of play. 

Patrick Mann (Rochester, NY/Brighton) led the team with four shots, three of which were on goal. Mann had a spectacular shot 35 yards out but couldn't find the net and hit the right post. Anthony Galvano (North Tonawanda, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) followed with two shots on goal but were both saved by the Panther's goalkeeper.

The next game for the Spartans is Saturday, October 12 at 2PM. The game against La Roche on Saturday will be held at Nichols High School located at 1250 Amherst St. Buffalo, NY.
