Buffalo, NY-Visiting Buffalo State got by a game D'Youville College squad 69-56 in a non-conference matchup in the College College Center Gym.

D'Youville got 17 points from Shannon Dougherty (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West)  on 8-16 shooting.  Dougherty has scored in double-figures in all four games this season.  Alexis Smith (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) also scored 17 on 5-8 from the floor and 7-10 from the foul line. 

At five-foot four inches, Maria Rosati (West Seneca, NY/St. Mary's) grabbed a team-high 8 rebounds followed by five-foot three Danette Laguerre (Buffalo, NY/Hutch-Tech) with 6 rebounds to go with 10 points.  It was Laguerre's second-straight game in double-figures.

D'Youville shot 42% from the floor in the first 20 minutes and trailed 29-27 at the half. After the Bengals opened the second stanza with 7-straight points and pushed their lead to 12,  D'Youville rallied and tied the game at 49-49 with 6:38 to play powered by back-to-back three pointers from Bridget Andrews (Amherst, NY/Sacred Heart). Buffalo State answered with four-straight points and never looked back, ending the game with a 20-7 run.  Andrews finished with a game-high 5 steals and 5 assists to go with 8 points.

D'Youville (1-3) will open their AMCC portion of the schedule Wednesday (Nov. 28) at Hilbert College.  Start time is 6:00 p.m.
