Buffalo, NY (12/4/10)-For the D'Youville College basketball teams there was a happy ending after being stuck on the New York Thruway for 20-straight hours earlier this week. Both teams played their last home game before final exams and each came away with a conference win over visiting Mount Aloysius College.

In the women's game, freshman Casey Engle (Elba, NY/Elba) came off the bench to score a team-high 19 points, 17 coming in the first-half, to lead D'Youville to a 55-52 win over Mount Aloysius. Alex Iversen (Clifton Park, NY/Shendenhowa) totaled game-highs in rebounds (15), assists (5), and blocked shots (3) to go with 10 points. Holly Beats (Marilla, NY/Iroquois) also added a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds for D'Youville (2-6, 1-1 AMCC).

The D'Youville men's team won their first game of the season with an 87-78 win over Mount Aloysius.  Patrick Coyle (North Chili, NY/Bishop Kearney) scored a game-high 20 points to go with 12 rebounds and eight blocked shots. Shane Canahai (North Tonawanda, NY/Starpoint) also recorded a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds and Kenneth Farley (Buffalo, NY/Performing Arts) scored a season-high 16 points for D'Youville (1-6, 1-1 AMCC).

The next date for the D'Youville teams is December 11th at Penn State Altoona.
