Jake Harford enters his first year as the D’Youville University Pitching coach in 2024. Jake played collegiate baseball as a pitcher at Fredonia State University from 2014 to 2017.
Jake transitioned into coaching after his playing days, serving as an Assistant Coach at Bishop Timon High School from 2020 to 2023. In this role, he developed young athletes, focusing on skill development and competitive readiness. His passion for the game and commitment to fostering talent made a significant impact on the team’s success.
After college, he was instrumental in leading his team to two MUNY National Championships, earning recognition as a member of the All-Tournament Team for his outstanding performances on the mound.
In 2021, Jake continued to build on his success in the baseball world by pitching professionally for the Welland Jackfish, where he played a pivotal role in the team’s championship season in 2023, contributing to their IBL title. His leadership and skill propelled him to become the franchise's wins leader, a testament to his dedication and talent.
Previously, Jake was the Pitching Coach at Erie Community College, where he leveraged his extensive experience to mentor and develop the next generation of pitchers. His coaching philosophy emphasizes technique, mental toughness, and strategic gameplay, preparing his players for the challenges of collegiate baseball.
Harford currently resides in Blasdell, with his wife Jorgette, son, William, and daughter, Kaia.
