Haleigh Smith joined the D'Youville Athletics staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer after gaining experience at the collegiate and professional levels. In her role, Smith provides comprehensive medical care for Saints student-athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play planning while working closely with coaches and medical professionals to support student-athlete health and performance.

Smith earned both her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Master of Science in Athletic Training from the University at Buffalo in 2026. During her clinical education, she gained valuable experience with the University at Buffalo women's basketball team, Canisius University men's soccer and men's lacrosse, the New England Free Jacks professional rugby team, and the WER Boston Banshees Rugby Team. Her responsibilities included emergency response, injury evaluation, rehabilitation programming, electronic medical documentation, performance data collection, and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care.

In addition to her clinical experience, Smith worked the NHL Scouting Combine, assisting with athlete testing and performance monitoring. A dedicated leader, she served as the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) District 2 Representative for the University at Buffalo's Master of Athletic Training program and was a team captain for the University's Women's Rugby Football Club. Smith is BOC Certified and holds certifications in Basic Life Support/First Aid, Hands-Only CPR Instruction, NARCAN administration, and Mental Health First Aid.
