Hailing from Buffalo, NY, Damian Martorana has built a lifelong legacy in volleyball as both a decorated athlete and dynamic coach. His journey began at West Irondequoit High School, where his passion for the sport quickly grew into a standout career with the Rochester Pace Bootlegger club under Cal Wickens. Earning honors such as Mizuno High School All-American, FAB 50 Select, and Empire State Games medals, Damian went on to play at Penn State University under legendary coach Mark Pavlik before continuing professionally in the European League and on a U.S. traveling pro team. With over 30 years of experience in competitive play and coaching, he has returned to Western New York to develop the next generation of athletes, leading multiple Bootlegger boys’ teams to major victories across the 2024–25 season including the Nike Freeze Festival, WEVA Regionals, and the Northeast Championships.
Beyond the court, Damian’s creativity and leadership extend into the arts and entertainment world. He has founded a successful ballroom dance studio, produced and performed in stage shows, and built an award-winning career in film and video production alongside Emmy-winning collaborators. Whether inspiring athletes, dancers, or audiences, Damian continues to embody passion, precision, and the pursuit of excellence in every arena he enters.
