Abby Pearson was welcomed to the D'Youville Saints in 2021.
Pearson joined D'Youville in July 2021. In her first season with the Saints, she improved the programs record from winless the year prior to 7-10-2. Under Pearson the program also earned its 1st ever win over Division II competition in addition to also earning its 1st ever win over Division II conference opponents in the ECC. Finishing top 6 in the ECC, the Saints also landed top 4 in the USCAA and made it into the USCAA National Tournament. Under Pearson’s guidance, Maggie Leeds earned USCAA First Team All-American, Dani Camilleri and Laurie Poeller earned Second Team All-American, Emma Russell and Sarah Milczarski landed on the USCAA All-Tournament Team, in addition to Poeller, Palla and Zwolenkiewicz earning USCAA Academic All-American. Bernas and Zwolenkiewicz earned ECC Rookie of the Week honors, and the team finished the season with a 3.47 GPA.Â
Prior to D'Youville, Pearson was the associate head coach at DI-St. Bonaventure University and had been with the Bonnies since 2017. While at SBU, she helped the program in her first two seasons go from a 2-14-4 record to a 7- 10-3 record. She also helped the program see its first A10 All-Conference and NSCAA All-Region player since 2013. In addition, she also assisted with developing goalkeeper Lauren Malcolm who was nominated for the A10 Women of the Year Award, earned NCAA National Player of the week, multiple A10 player of the week honors and finished her career in the record books first in games played, second in GAA and third in shutouts.
As a player, Pearson played professionally for the Dayton Dutch Lions of the USL W-League and won a conference title in 2013. Pearson then went on to the Cincinnati Sirens of the WPSL and PASL from 2015-19—won the PASL title in 2019. Collegiately, the Dayton, Ohio product played at Urbana University (Ohio) and was a First Team All GMAC and First Team All-Ohio performer and was the first female athlete in school history to earn All Region honors. Statistically, Pearson ranked top 20 in the nation across all divisions for single season assists her senior season and graduated with the Blue Knights first in game winning assist, second in career assists, and top ten in career goals.
Pearson earned her bachelor's degree in English and Journalism from Urbana University in 2012 and went on to earn her Master of Business Administration from St. Bonaventure University in 2019.
