Dobson Field opened in 2014 after Arthur F. Dobson, a prominent Buffalo attorney who died following a cycling accident while in Slovenia. The naming rights were secured by Mr. Dobson's longtime and close friend Carl J. Montante who was on the cycling trip with him. Montante is the President and CEO of Uniland Development Company and a current member of D'Youville's Board of Trustees.
The $5.5 million athletic complex is home to the soccer, lacrosse, and softball programs. The facility includes a full-size lighted turf soccer/lacrosse field and softball field, two scoreboards, batting cages, storage garage, and a parking lot used for officials, workers, and those who are handicapped. Across the street includes an auxiliary complex that houses four team locker rooms, one official's locker room, public bathrooms, office, athletic training room, and storage area.
