Battle of the Saints Raises the Bar in Year Two with Record Growth

BUFFALO, N.Y. — After a month-long display of competition and community support, the second annual Battle of the Saints fundraising campaign proved to be a resounding success for D'Youville University Athletics.

Throughout the month of March, Saints supporters showed up in a big way, helping raise more than $23,000 from over 270 donors. The campaign saw impressive growth in its second year, with a 14% increase in total funds raised and a 26% rise in overall donors compared to the inaugural effort.

"Our student-athletes are everything you hope they are—driven, committed, and proud to represent the Saints," said Ona Halladay, Vice President for Athletics and Planning. "The support we see from our family, friends, and alumni, especially through the Battle of the Saints, allows us to continue investing in their experience at the highest level. We're incredibly grateful for the entire D'Youville Saints community."

On the competition side, sprint football emerged as the top fundraising team, generating the most dollars for its program. Women's wrestling and field hockey followed closely behind, rounding out the top three. Women's wrestling also led the way in donor participation, finishing with the highest number of supporters, followed by field hockey and sprint football. Men's lacrosse stood out for its strong donor engagement, earning the top spot for highest average gift.

The Battle of the Saints continues to highlight the strength of the D'Youville community, bringing together alumni, families, friends, and staff in support of student-athletes. Funds raised through the campaign directly contribute to enhancing the student-athlete experience.

D'Youville Athletics extends its sincere gratitude to every donor who contributed to this year's success and helped raise the standard in year two of the Battle of the Saints.
