ECC Players of the Week | Mar. 16-22

COLONIA, N.J. – The East Coast Conference has announced their weekly award winners and D'Youville University athletics was well represented with two major winners and seven honor roll selections for the week of Mar. 16-22.
 
Billy Morris, Baseball – ECC Player of the Week
Morris had a great weekend at the plate for the Saints, finishing the weekend 9-for-18 (.500) with six runs scored and five RBIs, including a home run and a double across four games. Billy also pitched five innings in Friday's first contest with Mercy, striking out five and giving up eight hits. The highlight of the weekend came in game one of Saturday's doubleheader at Staten Island, where Morris racked up five hits and five RBI's with a double and a home run in the game. Morris' offense sparked the lineup and helped the Saints rally back to win from down ten runs in the third inning.
 
Raymond Cortes, Men's Lacrosse – ECC Rookie of the Week
Cortes had a solid all-around game for the Saints this past week, accounting for four points (2 goals, 2 assists) while also grabbing five groundballs and causing one turnovers in the team's 19-13 win over St. Thomas Aquinas College.
 
Mihir Manerikar, Baseball – ECC Honor Roll
Mihir Manerikar pitched critical relief innings for the Saints against Molloy on Friday, pitching 4 innings and allowing one earned run while earning the save in the 3-2 victory over the Lions. Manerikar led the bullpen and kept the Saints in control of the game, striking out two and pitching his way out of difficult situations.
 
Garett Wilson, Baseball – ECC Honor Roll
Wilson put up a historic day for the Saints vs. Staten Island in game one on Saturday, going a perfect 5 for 5 from the plate, including two homeruns and two doubles with 10 RBIs in the Saints' 24-12 victory over the Dolphins. Wilson also crossed the plate three times on the day.
 
Kaylee Farias, Women's Lacrosse – ECC Honor Roll
Kaylee Farias recorded nine saves against Gannon, helping the Saints force overtime in a tight 11–10 contest. She also contributed defensively in the 20-2 win against St. Thomas with a ground ball and caused turnover along with 6 saves, impacting play beyond the crease. Farias faced consistent pressure and delivered key saves in critical moments throughout the week.
 
Lauren Parker, Women's Lacrosse – ECC Honor Roll
Parker dominated the draw circle, recording 15 draw controls against STAC and 13 draw controls against Gannon, finishing with 28 draw controls on the week. She also added two goals against Gannon along with multiple ground balls and caused turnovers. Parker's ability to control possession played a critical role in both contests.

Madison Buck, Women's Lacrosse - ECC Honor Roll
Buck delivered a historic performance, recording ten assists in a single game in the 20-2 against St. Thomas, setting a new program record. She added a goal in that contest and recorded three assists against Gannon, finishing the week with 13 assists and 14+ points. Buck consistently facilitated the offense, creating scoring opportunities across both games and serving as the driving asset behind the Saints' attack.
 
Hayden Goldthorp, Men's Lacrosse – ECC Honor Roll
Goldthorp made significant contributions on the defensive end for the Saints, causing four turnovers while grabbing four groundballs in the team's 19-13 win over St. Thomas Aquinas College. Goldthorp caused a key turnover late into the fourth quarter which led directly to a score for D'Youville to make the game 18-12 with just over two minutes remaining in the game.
 
Luciano Gonzalez, Men's Lacrosse – ECC Honor Roll
Gonzalez was instrumental in the Saints' 19-13 win over St. Thomas Aquinas College this past weekend, contributing to seven points (3 goals, 4 assists). Gonzalez made the most of his shots on goal, converting on three of the four shots.
