BUFFALO, N.Y. — D'Youville falg football fell to Post with a final score of 20-6 on Saturday.
The first quarter of play began with Post taking the initial possession but failing to make significant progress, resulting in a punt. D'Youville capitalized on their subsequent possession, as
Paige Robinson connected with
Madelyn Lewis for a 19-yard completion that set up a scoring opportunity. The period concluded with D'Youville leading 6-0 after a Robinson rush for the score, maintaining momentum into the next quarter.
D'Youville faced challenges in the second quarter, with their offensive efforts stalling early. Lewis managed a short rush, but the drive ended with a punt, giving Post advantageous field position. Despite a strong defensive stand by D'Youville, which included flag pull efforts from Robinson and
Mackenzie Laforest, Post capitalized with a successful pass for a score. Later in the quarter, D'Youville struggled to regain momentum, with Robinson completing a significant 14-yard pass to Laforest in the final moments. Annika Lopez completed one pass for 16 yards and recovered two fumbles on defense. Laforest caught six passes totaling 51 yards and recorded seven flag pulls. Cartonia contributed defensively with four flag pulls and forced one fumble, adding 44 receiving yards on two receptions.
The Saints will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Roberts Wesleyan University for games against the Redhawks and SUNY Brockport.
