SPARKILL, N.Y. — D'Youville cruised to a 9-0 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday, scoring three times in the first half before adding six goals after halftime.
The Saints finished with a 34-4 advantage in shots and put 20 attempts on target while holding St. Thomas Aquinas without a shot on goal. Alegra Black earned the shutout without needing to make a save.
Danica Brill and Kayla Frasca each scored twice, while Emily Stefik contributed a goal and two assists. Olivia Paterniti added two assists as D'Youville received goals from seven different players.
Brill opened the scoring at 8:33, finishing a pass from Paterniti. Stefik doubled the lead at 32:25 off an assist from Sophia Menezes before Brill added her second goal at 39:05 on a pass from Stefik to give the Saints a 3-0 lead at halftime.
D'Youville continued to apply pressure after the break. Lainey Pruzinsky scored from Stefik in the 55th minute before Ariana Dandu extended the lead to 5-0 in the 68th minute with Paterniti providing the assist.
Ella Hurrle added another goal in the 71st minute, and Frasca scored twice late to complete the scoring. Alessia Agostinelli assisted on one of Frasca's goals.
D'Youville improves to 5-4-1 overall and 3-1-0 in conference play. St. Thomas Aquinas falls to 0-4-0 overall and 0-3-0 in conference play.
