BUFFALO, N.Y. – D'Youville University athletics weekly preview for the week of September 8.
Women's Soccer at Felician University (Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.)
After a 1-1 start to the season, the Saints will travel to Felician University for their first road test of the season. The Golden Falcons will enter the game 1-0 after knocking off Staten Island on opening weekend. This will be the second time these teams will meet with the first coming last season when the teams played each other to a 1-1 draw.
Men's Soccer vs. American International College (Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.)
After an 0-2 start to the season, the Saints will welcome American International College to Dobson Field. The Yellowjackets will bring in a 0-1-1 record after the start of opening weekend. This will be the first time these teams will play against each other.
Field Hockey vs. Indiana University of Pennsylvania (Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.)
After an 0-2 start to the season, the Saints will continue their homestand to begin the new season as Indiana University of Pennsylvania will come to town. The hawks bring in a 1-0 record coming off a win over Belmont Abbey on opening weekend. This will be the second time these team will face each other with IUP holding a record of 1-0.
Women's Volleyball vs. West Liberty University (Friday at 11:30 a.m.)
The Saints open the season with a record of 1-2 after knocking off Malone University down in Fort Lauderdale. D'Youville will face West Liberty University in the Cedarville University Tournament, the first of four games over the two-day tournament. The Hilltoppers started the season with a 1-3 record after opening weekend, getting the win over Ursuline College. WLU holds the all-time record at 2-0 against DYU.
Women's Volleyball at Cedarville University (Friday at 7:00 p.m.)
In their second match of the day, the Saints will play against Cedarvillle University. The Yellowjackets started the season with a record of 2-1, picking up a pair of wins at the Warrior Invitational. This will be the first time these two teams will meet.
Women's Volleyball vs. University of Indianapolis (Saturday at 11:30 a.m.)
On day tow of the Cedarville Tournament, the Saints will open with the University of Indianapolis. The Greyhounds opened the season with a record of 2-1 after the UIndy Invitational including a win against No. 13 Concordia-St.Paul. This will be the first time these two teams will meet.
Women's Volleyball vs. Saginaw Valley State University (Saturday at 4:30 p.m.)
The Saints will wrap-up their weekend playing against Saginaw Valley State University. The Cardinals opened the season with a 2-2 record after competing in the Walsh Invitational. This will be the first time these two teams will meet.
Field Hockey vs. St. Thomas Aquinas College (Sunday at 10:30 a.m.)
The Saints will welcome St. Thomas Aquinas to campus on Sunday. The Spartans will play their first game this Friday before traveling to Buffalo. The last time these two teams met was the first time with the Saints coming away with the 6-4 win.
Men's Soccer at Saint Michael's College (Sunday at 11:00 a.m.)
The Saints will travel up to Vermont as they take on Saint Michael's College on Sunday. The Purple Knights are currently 1-1 on the year and will play one game prior to their contest against D'Youville. These teams have only met once before with Saint Michael's coming away with a 3-1 win last season.
Women's Soccer vs. Saint Michael's College (Sunday at 2:00 p.m.)
The Saints will return home to face Saint Michael's College Sunday afternoon at Dobson Field. The Purple Knights are currently 3-0 on the year and will play one more game before their match against D'Youville. These teams met only once prior with the Purple Knights coming away with the 3-0 win a year ago.
