Isabella Mancino (Wynantskill, N.Y. / Averill Park) led the Saints at the plate with one hit and three RBIs. Summer Clark (Williamsville, N.Y. / Williamsville East) threw 4.2 innings in the circle striking out three while Sarah Parzych (Getzville, N.Y. /Williamsville North) threw 2.1 innings in relief allowing no runs and getting the win.

How it Happened

The Saints got on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning after Gianna Adamo (Lockport, N.Y. / Starpoint) reached first on a throwing error by the pitcher. The Saints capitalized scoring two on the overthrow. Jefferson tried to extend their lead in the top of the sixth, but Parzych delivered two strikeouts and a groundout to keep the Saints within one.

D'Youville's offense exploded in the bottom of the inning as the Saints quickly loaded the bases. Mia Trietley (Buffalo, N.Y. / Frederick Law Olmsted) scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at three followed by a walk from Sophia Arno (Clarence Center, N.Y. / The Brook Hill School) to reload the bases. Isabella Mancino came up with a bases clearing double down the left field line to break the game wide open and put the Saints ahead 6-3. Shannon Howes (Palgrave, Ontario, Canada / St. Thomas Aquinas) and Gianna Adamo followed suit each doubling right after to bring the Saints to an 8-3 lead.

Jefferson managed two base runners in the top of the seventh but were unable to score as the Saints earned the 8-3 victory in their first game of the day.

Isabella Mancino again, was the offensive leader at the plate going two-for-four with a double and two RBIs. Annie Jorgenson (Victoria, BC, Canada / Belmont Secondary School) followed right behind going two-for-three in her first career start.
