NEW CASTLE, DE. – The D'Youville Women's Bowling team wrapped up their three-day weekend at the Wilmington Wildcats DII-DIII Invitational finishing in eleventh place out of twelve teams. Day One of the Invitational consisted of five bake format matches, day two consisted of five traditional matches and day three consisted of three head-to-head duals.
Day One
The Women's Bowling team played in five different baker format matches throughout the day with six different bowlers from D'Youville participating.
Olivia Corbett (Dunkirk, N.Y. / Dunkirk),
Makayla Pasierb (Dunkirk, N.Y. / Dunkirk), Alyssa Mankowski (Hamburg, N.Y. / Frontier), Megan Kapsiak (Lancaster, N.Y. / Lancaster), Summer Sega (Hamburg, N.Y. / Hamburg), and Haley Campanello (Syracuse, N.Y. / Cicero North Syracuse). The Saints suffered losses to both St. Thomas Aquinas College and Wilmington University to start the day but found their lone win of the day after defeating Adelphi University 835-814. The Saints would fall in their last two matches of the day against Kutztown University and Alvernia University.
Day Two
The Saints competed in five traditional matches on the second day of the tournament. The Saints started out the day with a blind round where they knocked down 964 pins. Fr the day, the Saints fell to Mercyhurst university and Felician university, but defeated Chestnut Hill College and Caldwell University.
Olivia Corbett was the top finisher for the Saints finishing 15th overall with her best game being a 232 against Caldwell.
Megan Kapsiak finished 21st and
Makayla Pasierb finished 29th.
Day Three
The Women finished up the tournament with three matches today to determine seedings. The Saints lost their first two matchups to Chestnut Hill and Adelphi but deleted Dominican University to finish in eleventh place for the weekend.
