ERIE, PA – The D'Youville University women's bowling team opened their season at the Mercyhurst Invitational on Saturday and went 1-4 on the day.

D'Youville vs. Mount St. Mary's – L, 869-884
The Saints were narrowly defeated in their first game of the day against Mount St. Mary's. Senior
Makayla Pasierb (Dunkirk, N.Y.) turned in the best result for DYU with a score of 191. Not too far behind her were junior
Megan Kapsiak (Lancaster, N.Y.) and senior
Olivia Corbett (Dunkirk, N.Y.) with scores of 183 and 182, respectively.
D'Youville vs. Pittsburgh – L, 787-798
The Saints again lost a tight game, this time to University of Pittsburgh. Pasierb and Kapsiak again posted the top two scores for DYU. Pasierb posted a 201 and Kapsiak posted a 166.
D'Youville vs. Wright State – L, 846-886
In their third game of the day, Kapsiak rolled her highest score of the day with a 230 and Corbett also rolled her highest score of the day with a 213.
D'Youville vs. Daemen – L, 902-1030
DYU faced their ECC rival Daemen in their fourth game of the day. Pasierb rolled her highest score of the day with a 211 and Corbett posted a 200.
D'Youville vs. Penn – W, 828-801
The Saints closed out the day on a high note with a win over Penn. Sophomore
Hailee Zalwsky (Olean, N.Y.) was the top scorer for DYU with a score of 179. Senior
Alyssa Mankowski (Hamburg, N.Y.) rolled her highest score of the day with a 172.
