ERIE, Pa. – The D'Youville University Women's Bowling team returned to Pennsylvania to attend the two-day Grapevine Classic hosted by Penn State Behrend. On day one of the tournament, the Saints went 3-2 in five traditional matches.
D'Youville University 832 vs Daemen University 850
The Saints lost their first traditional match of the day to Daemen University 850 pins to 832 pins.
Makayla Pasierb (Dunkirk, N.Y. / Dunkirk) led the way for the Saints scoring a 210 which was a personal best of the day for the Senior.
D'Youville University 814 vs Ursuline College 827
It was a close lose in set two for the Saints as they fell 827 pins to 814 pins. Pasierb again led the way for the Saints with a 194, but
Megan Kapsiak (Lancaster, N.Y. / Lancaster Central) was close behind bowling a 172.
D'Youville University 933 vs University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg 774
D'Youville found success in their third match was a decisive 933 pins knocked down over Pitt. - Greensburg's 774 pins.
Megan Kapsiak was the top dog in the match bowling a 205.
D'Youville University 881 vs Penn State Behrend 868
The Saints kept their momentum into the fourth match defeating Penn State Behrend 881 pins to 868.
Alyssa Mankowski (Hamburg, N.Y. / Frontier) had her best game of the day and led the Saints in the match knocking down 199 pins.
D'Youville University 853 vs University of Pittsburgh at Bradford 793
The Saints hit their stride in the final match of the day and outscored Pitt Bradford 853 pins to 793.
Olivia Corbett (Dunkirk, N.Y. / Dunkirk) bowled a 200, her best of the day and the high score for the Saints.
D'Youville finished the day 3-2 after the five traditional matches and landed themselves in third place heading into day two of the Grapevine Classic.
