In their previous match, the Saints fell to Post University by a score of 3-1. In the 81st minute, sophomore Jeslyn Brooke-Vallesteros (Aiea, Hawai'i) found freshman Izzy Deachman (Nobleton, Ontario) for the Saints' lone goal of the match. This was Deachman's first goal as a Saint. The Saints saw several other scoring opportunities throughout the game, putting nine shots on goal, but were unable to convert. Sophomore goalkeeper Kailie Regan (Holley, N.Y.) played the full 90 minutes in net for DYU, making four saves on seven shots.
