NIAGARA, N.Y. – The D'Youville Women's Bowling Team finished their second day of the 2023 Niagara University Brunswick Fall Invitational in seventh place out of nine teams.
Day two of the tournament for the Saints consisted of four baker format matches. D'Youville faced off with Mercyhurst University, University of Pittsburgh-Bradford, and Bryant University. The fourth match was a blind round where there was no direct opponent, but total pinfall was counted.
The Saints started with the same five bowlers as the day before:
Summer Sega (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg), Olivia Corbett (Dunkirk, N.Y./Dunkirk), Megan Kapsiak (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster Central), Makayla Pasierb (Dunkirk, N.Y./Dunkirk), and
Alyssa Mankowski (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier). For the blind round, the Saints also added
Haley Campanello (Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero North Syracuse).
The Saints bowled their best game in their first match against Mercyhurst University scoring a 923. The total pinfall for the day for D'Youville was 3,121 pins and for the weekend the Saints knocked down 4,076 pins. They finished with an average game of 159.80.
The Saints are back in Buffalo next weekend for their final Fall invitational at Daemen University. The tournament will run two days, Saturday, November 11th and Sunday, November 12th.
