LOCKPORT, N.Y. – The D'Youville Women's Bowling Team finished seventh out of twelve teams in day one of the Daemen University Storm Fall Classic today. The Saints competed in five traditional matches against Roberts Wesleyan University, Penn State Behrend, Saint Vincent, University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, and Mercyhurst.
The Saints found success in two of the matches defeating Penn State Behrend 884 pins to 810. The Saints also defeated Mercyhurst University 886-850 in their last match of the day. D'Youville finished the day with 4,208 pins knocked down and an average team score of 168.30.
The Saints played five bowlers today:
Megan Kapsiak (Lancaster, N.Y./ Lancaster Central),
Makayla Pasierb (Dunkirk, N.Y./Dunkirk), Olivia Corbett (Dunkirk, N.Y./Dunkirk), Alyssa Mankowski (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier), and
Summer Sega (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg).
Megan Kapsiak was the top finisher for the Saints today knocking down 950 total pins and finishing fifth overall out of 75 bowlers. Kapsiak's best game was against Mercyhurst University with the Sophomore bowling a 258.
Makayla Pasierb followed close behind finishing eighth overall and bowling her best game against Saint Vincent with a 223. Pasierb finished the day knocking down 943 pins with an average score of 188.60.
Olivia Corbett finished 20
th overall with a high score of 179 against Penn State Behrend and 847 total pins knocked down on the day.
Alyssa Mankowski and
Summer Sega both finished in the top half of all bowlers as well with Mankowski ending in 30th and Sega in 34th. Mankowski finished with 755 pins and her best game was a 177 against Penn State Behrend while Sega knocked down 713 pins and had her best game against Pitt. - Bradford with a score of 167.

The Saints are back tomorrow for their Saints for Saints Day for the second day of the Daemen Storm Fall Classic. D'Youville will start their day against Pitt. - Greensburg at 10 AM followed by matches against Ursuline, Hilbert, Baldwin Wallace, and William Smith. All of the matches played tomorrow will be five-game baker format matches.
