GENESEE VALLEY PARK, NY – The D'Youville Women's Bowling Team finished their second day of their two-day tournament at Mercyhurst University. The team competed in Baker format matches for day two of the tournament. A Baker Match is when multiple bowlers combine to form one game.
The Saints faced Wilmington first losing 735 pins to 889. D'Youville then went on to defeat Mount Aloysius 796-764 and Daemen 845-842. The Saints also played a blind round where just their pinfall was counted. In this blind game, the Saints knocked down 716 pins.
The Saints bowled with the same five as they did yesterday:
Olivia Corbett (Dunkirk, N.Y./Dunkirk), Megan Kapsiak (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster Central), Mikayla Pasierb (Dunkirk, N.Y./Dunkirk), Haley Campanello (Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero North Syracuse), and
Summer Sega (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg).
The Saints placed eighth out of nine teams in the Mercyhurst invitational winning two games and losing six.
Highlights
- Mikayla Pasierb was the star of the Saints today. The junior only missed two spares on the day, and one was of the top performers of the Mercyhurst Invitational.
- The Saints finished the two-day tournament with 6,986 pins knocked down between both days.
- The D'Youville bowlers played a total of 45 games on the weekend and finished with a team average score of 155.2.
- The Saints also tabbed their first match wins of the 2023-24 season against Mount Aloysius and Daemen.
