LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – Getting back into conference play, the D'Youville University women's soccer team cruised to a 6-2 win over Lincoln University Friday afternoon.
The Saints (3-5-3, 2-1-1 ECC) got on the board early in the match with
Ella Hurrle (Jordan Station, Ontario) tallying her first collegiate goal in the fifth minute of action.
Laoise O'Haodha (Limerick, Ireland) made it a 2-0 game in the 15th minute, scoring off the feed from Hurrle.
In the 23rd minute, the Saints made it a 3-0 game with the Lions scoring an own goal. Hurrle made it a 4-0 game going into the break, scoring on a penalty kick in the 33rd minute.
Coming out of the break, Lincoln was able to get a goal back, scoring in the 46th minute. DYU got that goal back in the 58th minute as
Jillian Bernas (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) was able to find
Makaylah Higgins (Warsaw, N.Y.) for her first collegiate goal to make it a 5-1 game. After the Lions adding another goal,
Jeslyn-Brooke Vallesteros (Aiea, Hawai'i) capped off the scoring in the 60th minute thanks to the dish from
Hannah Woodhouse (Queensbury, N.Y.).
Kailie Regan (Holley, N.Y.) earned the win, having a clean sheet in the 45 minutes of play.
Camdyn Cross (Munnsville, N.Y.) went the rest of the way in goal, surrendering a pair of goals.
The Saints will be back in action next Wednesday, October 18th, as they travel to Molloy University for a 4 p.m. kick.
