ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The D'Youville women's bowling team closed the 2021 portion of its schedule with a 3-0 sweep of Roberts Wesleyan on Sunday.
The two ECC rivals squared off in a trio of baker matches.
D'Youville won the first match, 887-821. The Saints won the first three games, which included a 179-124 win in game two, taking a sizeable lead on pinfall. Roberts won game four, 189-145, but D'Youville responded with a 20-pin win in game five.
Match two went 908-843 in favor of the Saints. D'Youville started strong with a 30-pin win in game one and a 25-pin victory in game two before falling 199-151 in game three. The Saints won games four and five to pick up the win.
The final match of the day was the lowest scoring of the trio, but D'Youville pulled out an 846-793 victory. Games one and two went D'Youville's way and the Saints led by 50 pins combined. Roberts once again won game three before D'Youville rebounded to claim game four 163-128. Roberts won game five, 193-183, but was unable to catch D'Youville on total pinfall.
