Box Score BUFFALO, N.Y. – Bryant & Stratton Syracuse and the D'Youville women's soccer team battled each other and the elements for 75 minutes before the Bobcats scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 win for the visitors.
Kadaysha Hughes received a through ball from Marie Seeger and beat Laurie Poeller in the D'Youville goal for Bryant & Stratton Syracuse (5-3-1).
Throughout the contest, the two sides had their chances, with 25 shots combined and 13 getting on goal.
D'Youville (4-7-1) had quality chances to take the lead or tie the game. Noelle Coyle hit the right with a curling shot in the 17th minute that had the 'keeper beaten. In the 55th minute, Kavina Ganeshan was alone in the box after receiving a cross, but Maria Cordiero made the save. Cordiero dropped to the ground and blocked the shot with her outstretched left leg to keep the game scoreless.
The final two chances of the night for the Saints came from Maggie Leeds. The midfielder and team's leading scorer pushed a header wide off a corner kick in the 85th minute and then pulled a shot just wide of the left post in the 88th.
